This series of work is meant to inspire adventure, promote diversity- and remember the precious moments of joy and peace we've encountered while outside.

Each work, is inspired by trails I've walked myself- either on my own or with others. As mentioned in my introduction to this series, I seek to promote diversity in my work- reflecting those who are not often represented in outdoor spaces. My hope is for everyone to be able to see themselves in this collection.

'Solitude at Sunset' is based off a hike in Virginia called 'Old Rag'. This trail is one of the most popular hikes along the Blue Ridge mountains. It's a pretty heavily trafficked loop trail that's about 9.5 miles.

I’ve hiked numerous routes along the Blue Ridge mountains alone and it’s a unique and peaceful experience. Solo hiking (especially as a female) can be intimidating- but with the proper gear, maps, and communication, it can be an empowering adventure. There’s honestly nothing like being at the top of a mountain with no one in sight.
